Cherry and Gary spent years throwing strange, unanswerable search questions into a literal metal cabinet instead of dealing with their own feelings. Once it was overflowing with technically correct chaos, they did the only logical thing: dragged the cabinet in front of studio lights and three cameras, unleashed an alarming amount of squeaking poultry 🐔, and made The Non-Canonical Cabinet series. It turns out that when you start testing whether a chicken emoji (cf. 🐔) breaks a URL path, someone eventually and inevitably brings out a tiny detective hat [insert detective hat emoji] and things spiral immediately. Come watch them turn edge-case technical SEO into a low-budget sitcom 🎥 before someone locks the drawers from the outside: https://lnkd.in/emKR9xMR

Over the years, the Search Central YouTube channel has published hundreds of videos across various series, from Search for Beginners and Ask Googlebot to Search Console Training and Search Off the Record. While our series structure works well for deep dives and episodic updates, we know that finding a clear, sequential learning path from scratch can sometimes be challenging. That's why we created two new playlists to provide you with SEO and Technical SEO fundamentals, read more about them at https://lnkd.in/ewE2zviA

Now in Search Console: Web Multimodal Search Reporting! As Search becomes more visual, understanding how users find your content is crucial. We are introducing web multimodal search reporting in Google Search Console. Rolling out globally today, this update gives you direct insights into how your content is surfaced when users search using images—such as with a smartphone camera. This includes data from Google Lens, Circle to Search on Android, image uploads, and Chrome's "Search this image" feature. To see your metrics, just apply the new multimodal search type filter in your performance reports (available for both Search results and Generative AI features). Especially if you have a website with visual content, check it out. And, if your team has been pushing back on making images on your website better & indexable, maybe this data will give you something new to talk about. And, and - these insights are also available for platform-properties like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok accounts. 🚀 Find out more at https://lnkd.in/e5WD8Gsu

If you’re using WordPress, you can now see a report of important actions like cart checkouts or form submissions directly in your WordPress dashboard, thanks to Site Kit's new Site Goals feature. Site Kit is Google’s official plugin for WordPress - covering everything from Search Console to AdSense and Analytics, directly in your WordPress dashboard. To show you how your site is helping achieve your business goals, Site Kit actively fills in data gaps by detecting these key visitor actions and sending the events to Analytics for you. The new Site Goals section then curates those stats on your dashboard to show what worked and what didn't. Here’s how it helps: * It automatically tracks important site visitor actions like cart checkouts or form submissions from popular plugins like WooCommerce, WPForms, and Contact Form 7, without any manual tagging or code. * You get a report tailored to what you do, whether that's tracking online store sales or lead generation signups. * It highlights your top goal drivers, so you can see which traffic channels and landing pages brought in the visitors who actually converted. Site Goals is available for all WordPress sites using Site Kit with Google Analytics. To try it out, install Site Kit: https://lnkd.in/fxR27A4 To read more about how Site Kit tracks events: https://lnkd.in/eWjhXKSW See everything the Site Goals feature can do to help you track business outcomes: https://lnkd.in/eHVGv8ec
