WooCommerce Product Updates

Purple 1.0 is now available: a free theme built by Woo that lets you design your store visually in the WordPress Site Editor.

Ready-made store templates: Start with layouts for your homepage, product catalog, product pages, cart, checkout, and order confirmation, then adapt them to your store.

Reusable patterns: Add pre-designed sections for product collections, hero images, reviews, and more. Replace the sample content and rearrange the blocks to build your pages.

Your brand’s look: Adjust colors, typography, and spacing in Styles, and edit headers, footers, and page layouts through Appearance > Editor.

Customs fees now apply to recurring subscription totals and renewal orders, not only the first order in a subscription.

If you ship subscription products internationally, the customs fee was missing from the recurring total at checkout and from every renewal order it created. Shoppers paid it once, on the initial order, and no renewal after that carried it. With 1.3.6 the fee appears in the recurring total at checkout, on the subscription itself, and on renewal orders, using the customs rules you already have. Subscriptions created before this update keep their existing lines, so their renewals still won't carry a...

UPS Ground Saver labels carry both a UPS and a USPS barcode, because USPS can complete the final delivery. Ground Saver rates now show a note on the rate card and on the purchased label panel telling you to give the package to UPS only. The service itself hasn't changed. The instruction is now visible at the point you choose the rate and again when you print. Shipping to Puerto Rico, Guam, and other US territories, Freely Associated States, and military addresses now shows a notice explaining that USPS customs requirements vary by shipment direction, contents, weight, and service....

Two changes in this release are visible to your customers. Recipients can now opt out of AutomateWoo email and SMS tracking, which stops their opens and clicks being recorded. If you also run MailPoet 5.38.1 or later, turning open and click tracking off in MailPoet turns it off in AutomateWoo as well, so a subscriber only has to make that choice once.

The second change adds a confirmation step. When a customer clicks a reorder or cart-restore link in one of your emails, AutomateWoo now asks them to confirm before replacing what is already in their cart. Until now the...

Two MailPoet releases landed a week apart, so this note covers both. Between them they fix a background job problem that was quietly stopping bounce processing and WooCommerce sync, connect tracking preferences with AutomateWoo, and get pop-up and slide-in forms showing on sites where they had gone missing.

One failing background job no longer stops the rest. Before 5.38.0, a single job that failed to start would halt the ones queued behind it, so bounce processing and WooCommerce sync could stop with no warning. Each job now runs on its own. The same release corrects the Amazon SES region list...

9.2.0 rebuilds the Subscriptions settings page and changes two defaults you should check after updating. It also fixes a set of billing problems that were leaving renewals uncharged or charged at the wrong amount.

Check two settings after you update. Settings are now a single column with clearer labels and inline help at WooCommerce > Settings > Subscriptions. Early renewal payments are now on by default on any store that never saved the "Allow early renewal payments" setting, which means customers on those stores can pay a renewal ahead of its due date; turn it off in Settings if you...

Variation galleries are now included in WooCommerce—no extra extension required. You can give every color, style, material, or other product variation its own gallery of images.

When a shopper selects a variation, the product gallery automatically switches to show its full set of images.

More helpful product galleries, less to manage.

Functionality previously available through the WooCommerce Additional Variation Images extension is now built into WooCommerce at no additional cost. Variation galleries also work with the latest WooCommerce blocks, including the Product Gallery and Add to Cart blocks.

If you already use the standalone Additional Variation Images...

Google for WooCommerce 3.9.3 changes what happens when the connection between your store and Google stops working. Instead of continuing to send requests that Google rejects, syncing pauses and you get a notice telling you to reconnect.

Before this release, a rejected authentication token was handled one product at a time. A sync run would work through your entire catalog, fail on every product for the same reason, and leave you with a pile of errors that didn't say what was actually wrong. Now the run stops on the first authentication failure. And when the connection has no owner account...

WooCommerce Bookings 3.10.0 adds a "Share max bookings per block?" resource setting, cuts the number of queries a booking form runs, and closes a long list of permission gaps across booking data.

The new setting solves an overbooking problem. Until now, max bookings per block was held separately by each resource on a bookable product, so a slot that was effectively full could still be booked again through a different resource. Turn on "Share max bookings per block?" and that allowance becomes a single shared pool — a booking taken on one resource counts against every other resource on the product....

MailPoet 5.37.0 completes the tracking consent work started in 5.36.0. You can now see and set any subscriber's consent state, the editors check your emails and forms for the pieces consent needs, and three places where a subscriber's choice was quietly being lost are fixed.

Consent is now visible where you'd look for it. Open a subscriber's edit page and you can see and set their tracking consent state, when it changed, and how it was recorded. That last part matters if anyone ever asks you to show your basis for tracking a given subscriber — you have the state, the date,...

AutomateWoo 6.8.2 adds order and subscription address rules, so you can trigger workflows based on where an order is going rather than only who placed it. It also tightens how unsubscribe links identify a recipient.

The new rules cover billing and shipping addresses on both orders and subscriptions, including shipping phone numbers. That opens up workflows you couldn't build before: a delivery-region follow-up that only goes to customers in a particular city or postcode, a different post-purchase sequence for orders shipping to a business address versus a home address, or an SMS workflow that checks a shipping phone number is...

MailPoet 5.36.1 adds a Latest posts block to the email editor, with per-post layout control, category and tag filtering, and the option to pick posts by hand. It also fixes background sending failing to resume after an update.

The block is aimed at anyone sending a content newsletter. You choose how each post appears — the layout is composable per post, so a lead story can be laid out differently from the items beneath it, rather than every post being forced into one repeating template. You can filter by category and tag to pull only the content that fits the audience,...

MailPoet 5.36.0 adds a tracking consent checkbox to your sign-up points, and a matching segment filter so you can target people based on whether they agreed to be tracked. It also fixes open and click rates that could report above 100%.

You can now add a separate tracking consent checkbox to MailPoet subscription forms, WooCommerce checkout, and the WordPress registration and comment forms. Subscribers choose at the point of sign-up whether you can track their opens and clicks, so consent is captured up front and tied to the moment they joined your list rather than handled after the fact. This builds...

WooCommerce Shipping now supports FedEx. You can compare FedEx rates against your other carriers and buy labels without leaving your dashboard or setting up a separate FedEx account.

Offer FedEx's popular domestic and international services, access discounted rates — up to 90% off — and keep every carrier in one place instead of juggling logins and separate workflows. Since launch, the flow has gotten a few merchant-facing refinements: a residential/commercial address toggle so FedEx can quote accurate rates and confirm service availability, and a phone number requirement on FedEx labels so shipments don't get held up in transit.

AutomateWoo — Referrals 2.13.0 improves the Refer a Friend email share form for shoppers who rely on assistive technologies. Validation messages — such as prompts to enter a valid email address — now stay visible on screen as persistent text instead of disappearing as native browser tooltips, meeting the WCAG 2.2.1 timing requirement so shoppers who need more time to read feedback won't miss it.

This release also raises the minimum required WooCommerce version to 10.9, with compatibility confirmed up to 11.0.

How to get it

Update to AutomateWoo — Referrals 2.13.0 in your WooCommerce dashboard.

You can now build shipping rate rules based on the total volume of items in the cart, alongside the existing weight- and count-based options. For stores selling furniture, large appliances, or other bulky, packaged goods, dimensional size is often a better proxy for shipping cost than weight alone — this gives you a rule that reflects that.

How to get it

Update to WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping 3.7.0, then set up a volume-based rate rule under WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping.

You can now embed videos from YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Dailymotion, and VideoPress directly in the new email editor — no manual linking or workarounds needed. Typing in the editor canvas is also noticeably more responsive, so building longer emails feels less sluggish.

Two layout bugs are fixed alongside these: rows of buttons that previously stretched an email past its content width now wrap correctly, and full-width blocks now display at full width in the editor preview, matching what subscribers actually receive. A crash when opening the typography styles panel on an element without typography styles is also resolved. As a...

If you sell in more than one language, this release is the one to update for. Markets, currencies, and shipping feeds now work across your store's languages, so a multi-lingual store sends Google the right product data for each locale instead of forcing everything through a single one.

Croatia joins the list of countries supported by Google Merchant Center, so stores based there — or selling there — can now list products and run campaigns. This release also adds marketing notifications, which surface recommendations and account alerts where you already manage your campaigns, rather than leaving you to check Google's interface separately.

Two changes in this release affect how you build campaigns from your WooCommerce dashboard.

Ad image previews now load in the campaign builder, even when you have an adblocker turned on. Before, an adblocker could stop the auto-generated preview images from loading, so you'd build a campaign without a visual check of how the ad would look. Now the preview shows every time, so you can confirm the creative before you publish.

Brand guidelines now apply to non-shopping campaigns, including Performance Max. Previously you could only set brand controls on shopping campaigns. You can now keep your brand consistent...

If your store uses the progressive layout, where shoppers build a composite product one component at a time, the builder now collapses each completed component as soon as the shopper makes a choice. The page stays focused on the next decision instead of a growing stack of already-answered steps. This release also exposes the Option Select Action setting, so you control what happens when a shopper selects an option rather than relying on the default behavior.

Catalog prices are also more accurate. Composites that include components with no individual price, combined with scenarios that conditionally hide certain components, could...
